Restoration Campaign
A familiar sight over Douglas in downtown Wichita, locomotive #93 is in need of restoration. Paint is peeling off, exposing the steel to the elements. As an outdoor display, she needs a proper industrial coating. As we are committed to preserving this locomotive we need your help! Please help us achieve our goal for a cosmetic restoration. These donations will be placed in a restricted fund for #93's preservation.
HOT OFF THE PRESS - WICHITA, Kan. — Santa Fe FP45 No. 93, donated to the Great Plains Transportation Museum by BNSF in 1999, is being moved to Mid-America Car in Kansas City, Mo., for a complete cosmetic restoration to its original Warbonnet paint scheme.
